Communion Chalice

I made this communion chalice for a friend who is an Episcopal Priest. It is made of cherry and finished with mineral oil and carnauba wax and then Beall buffed.

Walnut mushroom

I’ve just started learning to turn but I was pretty proud of this little walnut mushroom. Finished with butcher’s block wax (mineral oil/carnuba/beeswax blend.)

made from cedar and walnut. i turned the stem off centered for the knot effect.

Crochet Hook Box

Box for crochet hooks made of Babinga. It is 7 inches long and has a 1 inch inside diameter that is 6-1/2 inches long. It was sanded with mineral oil and carnauba wax and then Beall buffed.

I cut a square of mdf 10.5 ins and marked a 9.5 ins and cut it ruffle with a jig-saw mounted it on a faceplate.the speed of the lathe is 2150 rpm’s and turned the side of the mdf with a gouge and i used a bowl gouge to removed the inside of the mdf.and wed sanded 60-600 grades and used the shavings from other woods (i keep all the shavings in a large box for polishing)and when it is shining i used beeswax and buffed with a rag at 3000 rpm’s.
