Teddy Bear Crayon Box

I saw Carl’s ‘Teddy Bear” idea and developed it as a pencil box with a rubber kept under the hat. Just in time for my grand daughter’s birthday. Great website.
Thanks.

laminated goblet

I made this goblet out of some Ipe flooring that a friend brought me from a commercial construction site and a maple 2×2. First time I have turned Ipe and that has to be the most interesting smelling wood in have ever turned. I had that smell stuck in my nose all day, and lets just say it isn’t very sweet smelling!

Oak burr wall clock

I live near in a village situated in an oak forest in Sussex in England. I made this 11″-wide wall clock from a big piece of oak burr from it. No special turning tools required, except for a beading wood-carving chisel to get a tightly-rounded inner bezel. It then spent 3 weeks in the freezer to kill off any critters that might still be living in the burr – better than using chemicals! Finished in danish oil – quite a few coats were required as this burr is very porous and absorbent. The clock-works came from a £1.67 wall clock from Ikea, the stick-on numerals from good ol’ eBay.
