Natural edge box
I acquired some well dried Christmas trees from a relative in Oregon and decided to make her a small box in Thanks for the wood. The box is from the Christmas tree, the lid is from a piece of ash I got here in Wyoming and the finial is from a scrap piece of cocobolo. The pine turned very nice and smooth, unlike a lot of pine I’ve turned with very rough end-grain.

Change and key holder
Hi Carl! When I moved from Arkansas back to Wyoming I brought some of the cedar from our trees with me. This is a change and key holder from that cedar. I love working with cedar for the great smell it leaves in my shop and the beautiful colors and designs you come up with as you turn. Take care, Dave

Cedar Potporri Bowl
Hi Carl! This is a cedar potporri bowl I turned from some scraps. The bottom is separated by a piece of maple. You can reach in the top and crunch for more smell or take off the top and change it all.
Take care, Dave

portable lathe stand
This is my rolling stand for my delta. Its 32 x 16 and 27 1/2 tall.[ I’m short]. It has 2 small drawers on top and 1 large drawer below to accommodate my tools. Locking wheels that really hold. This allows me to move it around my small shop and even work off the end when hollowing large vessels. This has worked very well for me and even took it to a demo. Hope this helps may give you an idea or two.

Winged Tabletop Tiki Torch
This is my idea about a winged light for getting a little romance to the table.
Made out of Cherry, Sapele and an insert out of stainless steel.
Tuned on a cheap lathe, only using a glue block and a jam chuck.
