Hi Carl
I am a new Woodturner. I am 14 and I got a lathe for Christmas. I have turned a ton of pens and a couple of bottle stoppers but this is my first time turning a bowl. The bowl on the left is quina and the one on the right is hickory and walnut.

Waterleaf vase

Waterleaf vase,8″ tall,made of cherrywood.It was turned and carved with waterleaf motifs in a double wall envelope and finished with mineral oil and beewax

Woodturning with epoxy putty inlay

Hi Carl
I am a Woodturner from Hampshire in the UK.
Hopefully this project is something new. I am using epoxy putty to create inlays in bowls. It is a technique that requires no specialist tools and has lots of scope. It is incredibly satisfying to turn and you can produce effects similar to the layers of automotive paint. The video is in 2 parts

Pinewood derby trophy

I have been making my cub scout pack trophies for several years. This year I made this one for the pack champion. We run all the fist place cars from each den and the overall winner will get this trophy. Cherry wood aged with lye and then sprayed with poly. About 7″ tall and around 3″ dia, the car is velcroed on top after the race for the winner to display.

Segmented Vase

Working on conquering the open segmented vessels. Vase is 244 pieces, oak, alder, mahogany, maple with a leopard wood accent segment. Vase is 6 inches tall and 4 inch diameter. Very challenging with the small segment pieces.
