Deer Grunt Call
I made this deer grunt call from a piece of maple burl that I had in the shop. I bought the insert from Penn State Industries. It ended up weighing less that a cigar pen. I gave it to my brother-in-law as a gift.

Got my lathe from harbor freight about 4 weeks ago, Just got a pin chuck made from a buddy of mine and turned my first duck call tonight. Learned a lot from watching your videos.
Question for you. I am using my neighbors drill press that only has a vertical travel of 2″ or so, What is the best way to make a continuous drill through a blank taller than two inches? any tips?
Went through a number of blanks trying to get it to work but had to settle for something very close to two inches, but id like to go bigger.
