Eaastern Cedar Bowl

I used to turn yrs ago and stopped after I burned up my lathe. But my wife just bought me a Harbor Freigth Mini Lathe (It’s cheap, but I’m well satisfied). Anyway, this is the first piece off that lathe and the first piece I have turned in 5 yrs or so, Chuck

Sweet Gum Vase

I was in Meijer Store the other day and had seen this little plant of flowers. (mini-roses). They came in a plastic self-watering vase. Got them for my wife. It really needed something to house it better. So, I turned this little vase out of Sweet-Gum.

Flame Hollow Vessel

Inspired by Carl’s Tequila Sunrise project. This vessel was made for a friend from wood from a poplar tree he planted with his mother many years ago. It feel due to lightening. The vessel was carves with a dremel. The base is padauk, a black veneer, lignum vitae, and a fishtale oak inlay ring. I had a lot of fun making this one! I thought my vessel carving looked more like flames than how Carl’s looked.
