Lidded Box
This is a lidded box I made from Zebrawood and Redheart. I glued up a cube of Zebrawood and then turned it with the axis running through two opposite corners. I made the handle of the lid look like the top of a Russian church, and when I glued the Redheart base to the body I put a 5 Ruble coin inside so it would rattle when shaken.

First project
Received a lathe for my 42nd birthday (last year was a Laguna Saw). Made the first project on it for my Wife from a scrap of redwood. I still need to practice, as the side of the tenon portion are a bit thin, but for my very first time using a lathe, I am pleased. More importantly, the Wife is happy. It is finished with what I had, bees wax & mineral oil (from making cutting boards).
Big thanks to you, Eddie Castelin, Allan Straton, Bob( RJB Woodturning) and many others. Everything I learned on YouTube went into this, since there isn’t anyone local.
