First Acorn
I’ve always wanted to try an acorn and after watching a bunch of videos on You Tube I gave it a shot. I’m definitely going to do more.

Pinecone bowl
My friend challenged me to make something out of a giant pinecone he found, he didn’t think I could do it. I proved him wrong

Ambrosia Maple Box
I never touched a lathe until Dec 2015 but have always been fascinated by the work they produced. After watching many of you videos, I turn this (not my first but 3rd attempt) for my wife as a Christmas present.
Thanks for sharing your talent and helping people like myself and providing great inspiration.

Life is Just a Bowl of Grapes
Cherry bowl, approx. 6 inch diameter, with walnut vines and koa grapes. Before turning the bowl, I did a glue-up with the curved walnut “vines”, and then rough turned the bowl to shape. I used a forstner bit to create 1/4 inch pockets for the grapes, and made the grapes with plug cutters. The grapes were done in 4 stages, to create the overlapping look, returning to the lathe between stages. Final sanding to 400 grit, and finished with satin wipe-on poly.
