Acacia box
G’day Carl,
Your videos inspired me to take some wattle that I had to cut down because it was growing under the power lines. It was sitting in the front paddock for about 6 months, dragged it up to the house for firewood and noticed it was dry, not too cracked…perfect for turning!!
This is my first attempt at making a box with lid from the one piece, using your techniques. Better to practice on the free stuff before buying good wood, eh?
Keep up the good work.

NYC Wood
I have an ongoing and growing project of collecting fallen trees of NYC and fleshing them into various whittles. Here’s a tree I pulled out of Fort Tryon Park in upper Manhattan, and this is the first bowl I lathed from it.
I really appreciate all your videos and information, Carl. Thank you

Mizer Bowl
The wood was something I had never come across before (Embuia) and I was told that it was hard to use and was bad on the tooling. Well just coming back to turning after an absence of 40 odd years I didn’t know any better and went ahead anyway, now I can’t get hold of this beautiful wood and its all thanks to you and Capneddie..
