Woodturning – Turned 22″ Elm Bowl / Awesome CNC Sign
▶ Check out my gear on Kit: https://kit.com/CarlJacobson
In this video I did a second turn on a 22″ Elm bowl I started a few months ago at the Woodcraft demo in Seattle WA. The bowl is still a little wet so I packed it back in the shavings to dry.
I also finished a sign my buddy Jake made for me. Jake used a CNC to make this awesome sign for my shop. I burnt it with a Lichtenberg burner and Robin painted it.
Power Carving A New Walnut Stand For Last Weeks Project
In this video I show you how I made this Walnut stand for the piece I turned last week. I cut the two pieces out on the bandsaw and shaped them with the Arbortech Turboplane.
Woodturning Maple Burl and Hand Blown Glass Piece
This is a colloabortion piece between Scott Darlington and myself. Scott works out of the Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle WA. I did a woodturning demo about a month ago at the center, that’s when Scott and I worked on the glass pieces for this project.
I turned a piece of Maple burl on the lathe and made a Walnut stand to holed it. The piece is 16″ tall and the Maple burl is 7 1/2″ x 3″ I got the piece from Mike a friend who lives in Canada.

Resin and Aluminum / A Collab With Zac Higgins
We headed south to Carson City Nevada for a collab with Zac Higgins from NV Woodwerks. He has a awesome shop, I was like a kid in a candy store! Zac and I cast a resin and aluminum blank while we were there. I turned the piece on the lathe using East Wood Tools new carbide negative rake cutters. These newly designed cutters really make turning resin a joy.
