In this video I made a simple puzzle box out of Maple, Walnut African Blackwood and Popular. I turned the box on the lathe out of 9 pieces. A dowel running down the center locks the box together with a key way at the bottom.

I this video I turned a bowling ball into a bowl on the lathe. Robin found the bowling ball at a thrift store for $15. I used Easy Wood carbide negative rake cutters to turn the whole piece. The negative cutters are made for this kind of thing.
