Irion wood Shifter

Shifter knob I made for my Truck, made of Desert Irionwood with a gabon ebony top cap, wet sanded with a beeswax//mineral spirits blend then a epoxy finish

For attaching to my Truck Like Carl did I installed a teflon incert but I lucked out and found a nut compleatly made of teflon that had the threads I needed so even if i cross thread it will not kill the threads.

Walking stick handle

Hi Carl this is the walking stick handle that you asked me to make and send you a photo. By the way the letter box is finished just needs the final coat or paint.
Some folks have dog houses to go to when the wife is not happy I don’t have a dog house but I now have a large letter box. lol Al

Maple Bowl

This was the first bowl that I’ve ever turned. I bought myself a chuck two days ago and turned this that day. It is Maple wood with mineral oil for a finish.

Wine glass plate one-upmanship

It is rare that one has opportunity to one-up the master. Thought you might like my version of the wine glass topper.
Thanks for the idea.

walnut bowl

Turned from green walnut. It’s about 10″ in diameter and almost spherical with the sapwood only at the top rim. 1/8 – 1/4 inch thick. I just let it air dry for a couple weeks with no problems. But, the sapwood got dark near the end grain trailing the heartwood. You can see the darkening on the inside of the bowl at the top. Carl mentioned grain that stood up. Could mine have picked up color from the heartwood? I sanded and sanded, but it wouldn’t come out. Any suggestions how to fix this?
