THe Spurtle or Scottish stirring stick

Not widely used in the USA, so rarely seen here, the Scottish stirring stick was used to stir things like porridge. One of the things I like about it is that it is not very wide, so not much of the food will stick to it, and it will not scratch pots and pans.

It has been sanded to 400 grit and then one coat of mineral oil has been applied. 2 to 3 more coats of mineral oil will be applied before it gets released to a friend of mine.
