Hi Carl, Wishing a happy and healthy new year for you and your family.
I like the idea of the new Q and A channel, should make things a bit easier for all concerned!
As you may notice from my email address, I live in the the UK, but most things / products you mention, are available here although perhaps under a different brand name. Back last year, after I first “discovered” you via Google, I became a regular viewer of “Woodshop TV”, and must say that I have learned a lot from you. It’s ok just reading books etc, but being able to see someone actually performing, is a great bonus .
I have only been turning on a regular basis for about a year now, although I have owned my lathe for about 4 years.
My biggest problem is the cost of everything, timber in particular. The price of timber over here has gone sky high, but lordy knows why!
I took advantage of your paste wax and mineral oil mixture about two months back, and wow, what a difference it makes. Apart from reducing dust, it seems to give a far better finish too, so thanks for that tip.
Don’t be offended, but you need to correct the “header” of this page. The letter E is missing from–” I’ll be posting a new video
very week” !!! (oops).
Keep up the great work, it is, and you are, very inspiring.
One question please, what part of the great USA do live? I’m just curious, that’s all.
Thanks, and take care, Bob Barker.
Oh, and by the way, my wife says you look “more cute” without the “facial fungus” !!
Carl – As an avid beginner and watcher of your videos, I think it would be very helpful for us novices if you indicated the turning speed you are using at each step in a project. Thanks, GLM.
