I this video I turned a bowling ball into a bowl on the lathe. Robin found the bowling ball at a thrift store for $15. I used Easy Wood carbide negative rake cutters to turn the whole piece. The negative cutters are made for this kind of thing.

In this video I turned a baseball bat on the lathe. I turned it with a skew chisel ,and finished it with wood dye and stain.

Woodturning – Walnut Sink

In this video I show you how I made a bathroom sink out of wood. The sink is 20″ by 15″ and made from one piece of Walnut. I turned the basic shape on the lathe before carving it with the Turboplane. I finished the sink with Stone Coat Countertops epoxy resin, two coats on the bottom and three coats on the inside.

I had so much fun with the bowling balls, thought I’d make something with a bowling pin. I’ve turned quite a few pin years ago, but they had Maple centers. The new pins are synthetic easy to turn, but not a lot of thing you can do with them.

I turned a bowling ball into a bowl! I was really surprised how will they turned. The only real issue I had was the core, which really wasn’t a problem to turn it just smelled really bad.

In this video I turned a piece of Maple with my new off center jig This is also know as eccentric turning. The piece of Maple was 12″ x 8″ x 2″ once I get the jig dialed in I’ll try turning a bigger piece using this jig. Thanks for all the great suggestions for making this jig better.
