pear wood box and spinning top

Another spinning top and a small box made of pear wood.
Really small boxes are among the things I really love to do, but the hollowing part still eludes me, so I just drill them out ๐Ÿ˜‰
Up to now nothing I turn is bigger than 1,5″ in diameter and I did boxes as small as 0,8″ in diameter. The one above is 1,5″.

Pens

I’m a disabled veteran and I am brand new to wood turning. These are some of the pens I’ve turned.

Herr

I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful videos that inspired me to buy a lathe ๐Ÿ™‚
Since i got it a couple of days before christmas i mostly do spinning tops because they seem to have a hypnotizing effect on me… plus my wife absolutely loves them ๐Ÿ˜‰
So… this one is made of cocobolo, sanded up to 999 grit and finished with Capt. Eddie Castelin’s (whom i, too have to thank for his vids) shine juice ๐Ÿ™‚
(1/3 shellac, 1/3 den. alcohol, 1/3 boiled lineseed oil)
