Alumilite Resin and Banksia Pod Lidded Box

I turned this Alumilite lidded box on the lathe, Brad cast a bankisa pod in the Alumilite. This was my first time turning Banksia pod, man this stuff is really dense, and dusty….but well worth it. The box is 4 1/2″ tall and 3 3/4″ in diameter.

Segmented Wave Lidded Box

I turned this John Beaver inspired lidded box. I used the Miterset to make the segmented rings for the wave, and lid. I used the band saw to cut the arc which creates the wave after it’s turned on the lathe. I used Maple and Walnut for this project. The box is 6″ tall and 4″ in diameter.

Make A Kitchen Canister With A Threaded Insert

In this video I make a kitchen canister with a threaded insert out of Maple. it’s 5″ in diameter and 8 1/2″ tall. I turned a large cylinder on the lathe, and cut one third off for the lid. I recessed a brass threaded insert in the base, and lid.
